Lake Oswego Close to the Big Champagne Ball

Places to be on New Year's Eve in Lake Oswego

Every year the party gets bigger at Portland Hilton’s Champagne Ball on New Year’s Eve. Just a short commute so to speak from Lake Oswego to Portland will land you at the best party of the year which will unfortunately take place on the year’s first day. But it is well worth the effort and then trying to top the fun you’ll have the rest of the year.

There will be 18 bars, 3 dance rooms, and a chill lounge to catch your breath. The highlight is the huge Champagne Ball countdown followed by the traditional Champagne Toast. If however you want to stay local our Lake Oswego eateries will not disappoint. Try the Stickman’s Brewery which in years past has had a heated tent and individual wireless headphones offering two types of dance music.

Also in the New Year’s spirit will be the Maher’s Irish Pub. Be careful though they may start early to match the Eastern New Year’s ball drop.

Then return to your comfortable, less hectic Apartment at Westlake Meadows where you’re always near the action, but just far enough away to get some relaxation.

Crisp Air and Fresh Pumpkins

Best pumpkin patches in Lake Oswego

The Lake Oswego area really is unmatched for fall beauty. Once the leaves start to change a brisk walk in some cooler air will get those hearts pumping. The month of October, of course, is best known for this and of course for Halloween.

Time to go get the kids and set out in search of this year’s pumpkin. There are two farms nearby that will be a great stop for any pumpkin picking crew.

Lee Farms in Tualatin has all the amenities you can associate with a pumpkin patch visit. Hayrides, a corn maze, pony rides, and store filled with fresh fruits and baked goods.

Another favorite with less of the frills but plenty of Pumpkins is Fiala Farms. For over a century the Fiala family has offered fresh produce and a quiet family atmosphere for your outdoor pumpkin picking pleasure.
Lake Oswego has plenty of indoor beauty to sample at the Westlake Meadow Apartments. Tree-lined walkways and outdoor patios give our residents plenty of fresh air to sample while staying close to home. And it’s still close to all those pumpkins.
