The holidays are here, and your apartment at Westlake Meadows is the perfect space to create cozy vibes and festive cheer. With a few simple decor ideas and moments of self-care, you can make your apartment feel warm and inviting this holiday season. Let’s dive into how to make your apartment living experience magical.

Home for the Holidays

Transform your apartment into a holiday retreat with simple decor upgrades. Add throw blankets and pillows in seasonal colors like deep green, cranberry red, or snowy white for a cozy look. A small Christmas tree or a wreath on your front door sets the festive tone.

Twinkling lights are a must-have. Drape them over shelves, wrap them around windows, or line your balcony to create a glowing, magical ambiance. Metallic accents like gold candleholders, shimmering ornaments, or a chic centerpiece can add an extra layer of elegance. Finish the setup with candles or diffusers in scents like pine, cinnamon, or vanilla for that ultimate holiday feel.

Living at Westlake Meadows makes celebrating even better. Organize a holiday cookie exchange, host a movie night, or enjoy a hot cocoa bar with your neighbors to share in the festive spirit and strengthen community ties.

Setting Time Aside for Self-Care

Don’t let the holiday hustle overwhelm you—take time to relax. Create a cozy corner with a soft blanket, a comfy chair, and your favorite seasonal drink.

Take a few moments daily for journaling, meditating, or simply enjoying the glow of your decorations. These small acts of self-care help you recharge and savor the season.

At Westlake Meadows, your home is your holiday haven. Celebrate with joy, warmth, and festive vibes all season long.

Transitioning from Christmas to New Year is one of the popular apartment trends at Westlake Meadows Apartments. You’ve been decorating your homes since Halloween and can’t wait for the new year to make some obvious changes. At our apartments, residents have an opportunity to design their homes with unique decorations while enjoying some of the best modern amenities. Here are some apartment living Christmas décor ideas for every room that transitions into the New Year:

Designing With a Festive Eye

The New Year is still within the holiday season, but the festivities fade fast as winter intensifies. Our top apartment friendly tips include getting rid of the red colors and notes, which often scream Christmas. You can retain the white and neutral tones. Consider decluttering your space and retire the stockings, red pillows, and blankets to the oversized closets. Assess what you have in the extra storage provided on the fenced patios and decks, and consider replacing Christmas décor with spooky fall and winter alternatives. Remove the big-ticket pieces, nutcrackers, bows, and other Christmas apartment staples to create space for earthy, neutral hues.

The Perfect Setup for Your Aesthetic & Vibe

Moving away from Christmas to the chilly winter ahead can be easier with a complete shuffle of your home’s organization. Incorporate more white and green notes and flowers that last longer indoors. Think spooky fall aesthetics like baskets, rustic wooden frames for your wall art, and neutral colors for coffee table items. Bring in natural decorative elements like birch wood pieces and pine cones. Consider using white vases and flowers to match deep greens and neutral hues around your room. You can maintain gold and silver items or even add shiny neutral accents. Keep everything clean and spruce your bookshelf with new books to read during the chilly winter.

Snowflake Man Holiday Performance

After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, everyone needs a chance to sit back and relax. Get back to spending quality time with your families when Christmas is over. One of the most charming ways to do just that is to head to the Lake Oswego Public Library for their annual performance of “The Snowflake Man.”

“The Snowflake Man” is a family-friendly performance inspired by Wilson Bentley, a farmer and scientist who was the first person to capture the image of a snowflake! It doesn’t get cooler than that! Watch as this unique trunk show comes to life with marionettes, props, and more. A pop-up book of watercolor paintings helps bring the show to life. Combining art, science, history, and more, “The Snowflake Man” is a great way to top off your holiday festivities.

If you think this sounds like a great time with your loved ones, then mark your calendar. You can catch the show on December 27 at 1 pm. Be sure to check out the full calendar of events for even more fun! The Lake Oswego Public Library is located at 706 4th Street in Lake Oswego.  When you live in beautiful Lake Oswego, there’s always a ton of fun around every corner!
